In this exercise, we make a subtle change to the original Haiku. In Western society in the Northern Hemisphere, the New Year falls in Winter. I applied my Western sensibilities to the poem and turned the cherry blossoms into a reference for the change from Winter to Spring.

Love it. Did you know that way back, Henry the VIII's time and well into the 1600's, the 25th March was the first day of the New Year. Why? If Jesus was born on the 25th of December then he must have been conceived 9 months before!

The church changed a lot of things to be able to utilize the existing pagan holidays. Most people who study the real history of the bible agree that Jesus would most likely have been born in the spring rather than the winter.
Grammarly is insisting that I should capitalize the word bible. I refuse.
