Marcus Aurelius is one of my best-loved philosophical heroes. It's such an irony that his son, Commodus, was an utterly narcissistic gormless twit who nearly destroyed Rome with his self-serving grabs at glory. If ever there was a case for reincarnation, place Commodus and The Orange Buffoon side by side.
