It's So Big Isn't it?

It's so big, isn't it? You really can't quantify it. We catch it first when young coming from our parents, maybe our family, maybe friends. Our communities may not confess it but it is so big they to are caught within its embrace. Love is a spectrum. It starts with respect before turning into admiration and, just as those feelings settle down within us so that in turn presents as affection then as a greater leap of the intangible flows out as love.

Love of friends, of family, of music, of poetry, of film, books, walking in the woods and fields, listening to the radio, watching talk shows, sitting in the sun, meditating, playing with your children, then your grandchildren. Like an endless wave rising then falling so love in all its aspects blesses us. It isn't hope, for to have hope you need a future for hope to have a reason for being and a probability isn't enough and anyway, where is the future? You can't see it. You can't touch it, or taste it you can only surmise it,  to believe in it. It is nothing more than a maybe. There is no future when you are in the present. Love is now. It highlights the past with memory, illuminating recall of what was, what will always was but now gone. Death doesn't destroy love even if death takes those away from us who we love so dearly. That is loss, our loss, but not the loss of love for the love you held, and hold for those you loved still remains.  Death cannot steal love.

It's so big, isn't it? You don't need to belive in love any more than you do fear for both are felt as instinctive emotions. Not the romantic love although that is beautiful, not the Ero's but the unconditional love one has for a child. Not the self-serving love that says if I love you what will I get in return, what kind of love is that? A bargain made with the ego as the arbitrator. But the love that loves for the sake of loving. Forgiving of errors for who doesn't make mistakes? Forgiving fallibilities and foibles. A love so big it makes the universe shiver for without love where would kinship be?
