It is very difficult to believe that anything can be magical in a world which is so full of pain, suffering, and inequality.
It is hard to believe that there is anything magical when one is feeling psychological pain.
It is hard to believe that there is anything magical when some people have so much and others have nothing.
Yet in spite of being mentally ill, being betrayed time and again because I trusted the wrong people, and realizing that I will never amount to anything worthwhile.
I still have to believe that somewhere, somehow, there is something magical.
Because without this belief, there is no reason to go on.
Magic does exist.
Scientifically speaking, there is no such thing as magic, there is only science that we don't yet understand.
I don't say this sneeringly to belittle the idea of magic.
I'm not that sort of person.
The fact that the Universe exists is magic.
Being scientific does not believe that one can't believe in things that we can't yet understand.
In fact, it's rather unscientific not to believe in possibilities.
Peace,
Lily

I do not see the world as you do. I see magic every whre I look, the sun, the sky, the flowers...I could go on but so can you. I see magic becasue I refuse to see anything else. I have ben hurt, but it passed. Life has kicked my butt but I'm okay. I have not made the big time in amything that I have ever done but I have enjoyed being part of life. I give thanks for what I have and I don't worry about the things I don't have.
It's good that you're okay. Some people don't come out of being betrayed and hurt as well as others do. It's also kind of hard to be happy when your brain's trying to kill you. I know where Lily's coming from. I don't think that folks who don't live with major mental illness get it.
She's right too about how much suffering there is. It's kind of hard to feel good about stuff when there are people who kill children and harm animals.
Perhaps you didn't mean to, but I see what you're saying as minimizing Lily's experiences. Like because you're okay and happy, she should be okay and happy too.
Some interesting thoughts and ideas, and i like how you express them. It is all in the heart, well done.
Hi Lily,
I just want you to know that I understand where you are coming from possibly more than you know. Been there, felt that way more times than I care to admit. I can only say that you are here for a reason and someday that reason will be shown to you. You have been through crap and you are a survivor which shows that you are stronger than you believe. Have faith that you have Angels who watch over you and if you really look you will finds signs of them. One day the coffee may smell better all of a sudden or you will notice a beautiful sunset or sunrise. You will smell flowers that you may not even have noticed before. A baby gives you a big smile or a stranger smiles at you. There are signs everywhere, you just have to look for them and when you do just think that your angel is nearby smiling because your Angel knows you found the gift for you. And who knows maybe you will do something for someone else because you are helping their Angel.
It truly is a magical world out there and science will probably never figure it all out but most Doctors and Nurses have seen things that could only be described as a miracle. Yes, it is a magical world out there and you are full of magic whether you know it or not. We all are. Life is truly the greatest magic of all.
Thank you so much for sharing this with us for this weeks Theme Thursday. I hope you are finding magic in your heart this weekend.
God bless.
Mr. Supole, I know Lily will appreciate your kind message. This is what I've told her, only you said it better.
GSB, if you come back, I hope you will read my post about different vantage points on the journey to enlightenment.
Illsa, your devotion to your friends is such an amazing quality.
