Missing Lafayette. Lost him July 17 of last year to kidney failure.

Missing Trinity. Lost her 13 days ago to brain and lung cancer.

Feel so sad about the way dementia has destroyed Malcolm Young’s mind so he “isn’t in there at all any more” according to his brother. Fucking dementia is the worst.
The 28th of this month will mark the 6th anniversary of my father’s passing after 6 years of decline both physically and cognitively.

You are forever loved, but my love is worth fucking nothing. It can’t save anybody, can’t bring anybody back. My love is hollow, painful, a worthless echo. I am so sorry. If I could trade I would.

For me, death is as natural as life. Loss is the unbearable burden. Lost mum this year, Bowie too and our family dog Cookie. Death cannot stop me loving them even though they are no longer here. As for Dementia, what a cruel thing to have but also to witness. Tao teaches me that nature makes no mistakes. That may be so but I sometimes wish it would simply end us so that we,and those we lose, could die quickly rather than have a prolonged existence that is some sort of dark half-house between life and death.
Absolutely agree.
I too feel that death is simply part of existence and I don't fear my own death. Sometimes, though, I do get sick of being the one left behind and of all the suffering I witness.
Cie, love is what life is all about. It sustains us. Without love, nothing makes sense.
We need to make sure that those we leave behind know they were loved and that we appreciated them. When we are left behind, we need to make sure we loved as fully as possible, to prevent regret. Yes, the loss is what leaves a void. Memories fill that void. Honour the ones who have left by loving those who are still here.
Hugs, my friend. I understand. I am here if you need to talk.
